We always knew that Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Juventus was going to be a lucrative one, but perhaps not this lucrative.
The release of the salaries earned by Serie A players has revealed that as Italian football’s top earner, Ronaldo brings a staggering £28m (€31m) a year, which is £19.4m more than the second highest Gonzalo Higuain, who banks £8.6m (€9.5m) a year after his move from Juve to AC Milan.
Ronaldo failed to score on each of his three outings for Juve so far, and so will be desperate to quickly prove that he’s value for money.
But what about that money in real terms?
£112m (€124.4m) over his four year deal
£28m (€31m) a year
£2.33m (€2.59m) a month
£538,000 (€597,613) a week
£76,712 (€85,212) a day
£3,196 (€3,550) an hour
£53.27 (€59.17) a minute
88p (€0.98) a second
Ronaldo’s deal is worth some £112m over his four year contract, which works out at that £28m a year.
He’s on £2.33m a month, equating to £538,000 a week.
So that means he earns £76,712 a day, £3,196 an hour, £53.27 a day and, yes, 88p a second.
Nice work if you can get it!
