Salah wins Football Writers Player of the Year award after incredible debut season

MO SALAH has been named Footballer of the Year by the Football Writers’ Association.

The Liverpool forward scooped another gong after being crowned by his fellow pros last month.

PA:EMPICS SPORT: Mo Salah has scored 43 goals in all competitions so far this season and is showing no signs of stopping

His win means Kevin De Bruyne misses out again despite inspiring Manchester City to the title.

Egypt international Salah has fired the Reds to the verge of the Champions League final.

And his form will be rewarded with a double-your-money deal to keep him at Anfield.

Kop chiefs are ready to open talks over a £185,000-a-week offer to end any questions over the 43-goal star’s future as Real Madrid monitor his situation.

They are determined to avoid another big name leaving after losing Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona.

Salah could significantly increase his £90,000-a-week terms elsewhere, while Liverpool could quadruple the £34.3million they paid Roma.

Salah is represented by Ramy Abbas Issa — a lawyer who is said to be “family” to the ex-Chelsea winger.

And the pair are believed to be happy with Anfield and the way Jurgen Klopp has coached him.

REUTERS: Roma may regret flogging Salah if he knocks them out of the Champions League

In-form Salah scored in seven matches on the bounce before firijng a blank in the 0-0 draw with Stoke.

But he will fancy himself against former club Roma as Klopp’s side aim to capitalise on their 5-2 win in the first leg.

Real Madrid face Bayern in their second leg tonight, with the Spaniards leading 2-1 from the first leg in Germany.
