Chairman of the Board of Nigerian Communications Commission, (NCC), Prof. Adeolu Akande has commiserated with the Aseyin of Iseyinland, Oba Abdulganiy Salaudeen Adekunle,Ologunebi, Ajinese ; over the death of 18 people in a ghastly motor accident along Moniya- Iseyin road over the weekend.
Akande, in a condolence message to the monarch and the entire Iseyin community described the death as quite unfortunate.
“It is with heavy heart that I received the unfortunate news of the death of 18 people in a ghastly motor accident along Iseyin/Moniya road. I just pray God will comfort the families of the deceased on the irreparable loss of their beloved ones” , he lamented.
The NCC chief, also called on the relevant agencies in the state to focus more on the newly constructed road by providing adequate road signs warning motorists as they approach bumps and bends on the road, while admonishing motorists, especially commercial drivers to always exercise caution and avoid over- speeding on our roads.
He continued, “these kinds of carnage on our roads are avoidable if only motorists adhere to road safety rules and regulations”.
