Revealed: The staggering amount Cristiano Ronaldo earns per Instagram post

Say cheese.

If you thought Instagram was just for massively over-filtering photos of your lunch, then you’d be wrong.

The photo-sharing app is big, big business these days, especially when it comes to promoting products, celebrities, and the products that celebrities are using. All of which brings us to Cristiano Ronaldo, of course.

Now if you were wondering why Ronaldo’s Instagram profile so often looks the way it does then it is usually for commercial reasons. He doesn’t really care about a protective screen for his phone, for example.

And a study from HopperHQ.com shows that the Real Madrid star – who has 116 million followers – earns a staggering £308,000 per sponsored post, placing him third in the “Instagram rich list” as the top-earning male in the world, just ahead of reality star Kylie Jenner (he’s paid the same as her, but has more followers).

The only two celebrities ahead of him are pop star and actress Selena Gomez on £424,000 per post and reality queen Kim Kardashian on £385,000 per post.

In fact, the Kardashian-Jenner family make up half of the top 10.

Amount paid per post (£)

The only other male in the top 10 – and indeed the only other sportsperson – is NBA star LeBron James, who can earns £92,457 per post.

Now we don’t know about you, but we’re off to take photos of our lunch.
