Engr. Aderemi Oseni, Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA), has expressed deep sorrow following the passing of his colleague, Hon. (Prince) Olaide Akinremi, popularly known as Jagaban, who represented the Ibadan North Federal Constituency of Oyo State.
Akinremi, an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and former head of the House Committee on Science Research Institutions, passed away on Wednesday morning at 51 years old following a brief illness.
Oseni extended heartfelt condolences to the family, party members, and associates of the late lawmaker.
In a statement released today in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, by his media aide, Idowu Ayodele, the lawmaker representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal constituency conveyed his profound sadness at the untimely demise of Hon. Akinremi, highlighting his contributions to legislative duties and his dedication to serving the Nigerian people.
Describing the late colleague as a principled and diligent lawmaker, Oseni remarked, “Hon. Akinremi Jagaban was not just a colleague but a close brother, friend, and a committed advocate for his constituents.”
“His passing leaves a void in our legislative community and in the hearts of all who knew him,” Oseni stressed.
He added that during his tenure, Hon. Akinremi distinguished himself through passionate advocacy for societal development and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people of the Ibadan North federal constituency.
Oseni urged all Nigerians to remember the late Akinremi’s legacy of service and dedication, noting that his contributions to national development will endure as a lasting tribute to his memory.
