The member representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency, Engr. Aderemi Oseni, on Friday extended his heartfelt congratulations to Chief Akin Oke, a revered leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State and former party chairman, as he marks his 86th birthday.
In a statement issued by his media aide, Idowu Ayodele, Oseni, who also chairs the House Committee on Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), described Chief Oke as a pillar of democracy and a statesman whose contributions to the political development of Oyo State and Nigeria remain invaluable.
Oseni praised the elder statesman for his exemplary leadership, dedication to progressive ideals, and unwavering commitment to good governance.
“Chief Akin Oke is a beacon of wisdom and integrity. His leadership has not only strengthened the APC in Oyo State but has also served as a guiding light for many within the progressive fold. His sacrifices and commitment to democracy over the years are commendable,” Oseni stated.
The lawmaker highlighted Chief Oke’s significant role in shaping the political landscape of Oyo State, noting that his tenure as APC chairman was marked by stability, party cohesion, and electoral successes.
“Chief Oke is a seasoned politician and elder statesman. To his credit, he successfully led the party through crucial political transitions. His leadership and dedication to the progressive movement have left an indelible mark on the state’s political history,” Oseni added.
As Chief Oke turns 86, Oseni reaffirmed his admiration for the elder statesman, celebrating a life dedicated to public service and the advancement of democratic values.
He prayed for continued good health, strength, and many more years of impactful leadership for the political veteran.
