THE referee in charge of Charlton’s clash against Doncaster was dramatically subbed off the pitch after a horror collision with a player.
Robert Lewis was left in agony after being clattered by Josh Magennis early in the second half.
Lewis took a brutal hit from Magennis before hitting the deck.
And there was panic around the Valley as he lay motionless for a number of minutes.
However, Lewis soon started moving after a stretcher was brought on.
But the heroic ref didn’t need to be helped as he slowly picked himself up before limping off the field.
Another official was then subbed on in his place to see out the rest of the game.
Magennis went to check on the official after the game, and Charlton’s official Twitter account reported that Lewis suffered a concussion but was OK.
Charlton went on to win the match 1-0.
