The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has suspended the operating licence of DAAR Communications PLC until further notice.
The commission on Thursday announced the decision at a news briefing in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
Daar Communications Plc, owned by Raymond Dokpesi , a Nigerian media businessman, is the parent company of Africa Independent Television (AIT), and Ray Power 100.5 FM (in Abuja and Lagos).
According to NBC, reasons for the suspension of DAAR Communications PLC operating licence include alleged inability to pay the license renewal fees, hate speeches, as well as using and allowing the station to be used for selfish political ends.
