Police: Nurse’s Injections Triggered Fatal Chain Reaction in Mohbad’s Demise

The Lagos State Police Command has disclosed that its investigations have revealed compelling evidence suggesting that injections administered by auxiliary nurse Ms. Feyisayo Ogedengbe were responsible for the tragic demise of Afrobeats singer Mohbad, known as Ilerioluwa Aloba, who passed away at the age of 27 on September 12.

The singer’s death has sparked controversy, with old videos resurfacing, alleging bullying and physical assault.

Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, revealed that Ms. Ogedengbe was summoned to the Lekki residence of Ayobami Sadiq, also known as Spending, a close associate of Mohbad, on September 11, to provide medical treatment to the artist.

“She eventually came on Tuesday, 12 September 2023, and administered three different injections, which are believed to have occasioned the chain of reactions that directly resulted in the eventual death of the singer,” Owohunwa said.

Further supporting this claim, expert opinions and witness statements have corroborated Ms. Ogedengbe’s involvement in the case.

“Her action of administering doses of tetanus toxoid, paracetamol (intravenous), and Cetrazone injection, which was also administered intravenously to Mohbad at his residence on 12 September 2023, immediately triggered the reactions, including vomiting, goose bumps, and convulsion that eventually resulted in the singer’s death,” Owohunwa said.

“This criminal liability is further heightened, granted the evidential fact that as an auxiliary nurse, she is not qualified to administer such medications or function as a qualified nurse. She also did this in a non-clinical environment and in a professionally negligent manner that negated standard medical protocols.”

The police investigation has also led to the naming of three additional suspects: Ibrahim Oluwatosin Owodunni (Primeboy), Samson Balogun (Sam Larry), and Abdul-Aziz Fashola (Naira Marley).
