Police authorities in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have apprehended a man in possession of human remains within the nation’s capital.
The suspect, identified as Nuhu Ezra from Gosa Kipikipi village in Lugbe, Abuja, was detained by operatives from the Iddo police division following intelligence suggesting he had a human skull and bones.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, disclosed that upon interrogation, the suspect admitted to possessing the body parts, claiming he had found them while hunting in Kuje.
His intention, as stated, was to sell the human remains for six hundred thousand naira (N600,000).
FCT Commissioner of Police, Benneth Igweh, has directed a comprehensive investigation into the matter. The investigation aims to determine the origin of the body parts, identify potential buyers, establish if the suspect was involved in any killings, and ascertain the duration of his alleged involvement in such activities.
Investigations are ongoing as authorities seek to unravel the circumstances surrounding this disturbing discovery.
