The All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives Candidate for Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency seat, Engr Aderemi Oseni has commenced the grading of rural roads across the federal constituency.
Oseni, who explained that special attention given to grading of rural roads was to ensure accessibility of the roads network at the grassroots and enable farmers easily transport agricultural products to urban areas, also informed that the repair works have commenced at Awotan township, Gbogunbe/Akufo/Latayo/ Pakuru road, Odujobi/Idi-Obi road and expected to link Okuna-awo, Idi -Iroko, Erinwusi and Esarun villages of Ido local government.
In a statement by the Director of Media and Publicity of his campaign council, Idowu Ayodele, on Friday, the APC candidate noted that with the palliative measure put in place, the rural dwellers who are mostly farmers would have easy access to bring their goods to the town, assuring that he would also extend the gesture to other villages in the federal constituency.
“I saw the suffering of my people first hand, especially when bringing their farm produce to the urban area and also the suffering of the children getting to their schools. It is important to give rural dwellers a sense of belonging because everyone deserves a better life.
“A situation where rural farmers pay the high cost of transportation because of bad roads leading to the cities to sell their products will discourage many people to engage in agriculture. I am confident that the completion of these roads would in no small measure help to facilitate more development, improve the local and state economy, and by extension make lives more comfortable for the citizens particularly those at the grassroots.
“Also, the ongoing grading of roads will go a long way in easing the traffic flow of human, vehicular and other associated challenges. They need good roads. The roads in rural areas are bad. I am determined to put smiles on the faces of the people of Ibarapa East/Ido federal constituency as well as give hope for a better future through quality representation imbued by honesty and the fear of God.
While promising to continue to work in the interest of the people, Oseni equally emphasized his commitment to the delivery of quality service, good governance and effective representation to every constituent if given the mandate on February 25, assuring them of even distribution of the dividends of democracy.
“I want to reassure you that every stakeholder in Ibarapa East/Ido federal constituency will be intimated and carried along with the plans, programmes and projects to be executed in our locality and the projects will be evenly distributed across the 20 wards in the federal constituency”, the APC chieftain reiterated.
