Residents of Yenagoa, the Bayelsa States capital, on Tuesday morning were greeted with anxiety following the razing of the State-owned radio station .
The fire, which started about 7:30 am destroyed a critical section Bayelsa Radio, which is located along Azikoro Road in the state capital.
The inferno, however destroyed some facilities in the live studio, links room, ICT unit, recording studios, and the presenter’s office.
Confirming the incident, the Commissioner for Information in the state, Daniel Iworiso-Markson, disclosed that nobody was injured neither was any life lost in the inferno.
The Commissioner stressed that the state government will probe the cause of the outbreak to avoid a reoccurrence.
He explained that his ministry will work out modalities to ensure the resumption of full broadcasting to the delight of its audience.
