The sixty million Naira (N60million) largesse of Engr. Aderemi Oseni, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency to members of his constituency during the recently concluded Sallah festival has continued to explode with excitement.
The gesture, in celebration of this year’s Sallah festival targeted at supporting Muslim leaders and members of his constituency across the twenty (20) wards in Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency has brought much joy to the beneficiaries who exploded in excitement upon receiving the largesse.
Among items distributed were rams, bags of rice, and cash totaling N60Million.
Speaking with newsmen, Engr. Aderemi Oseni said in keeping with his tradition of reaching out to his people, the donation was aimed at making his constituents have joyful and fulfilled Eid-el Kabir celebrations.
“This is something that has become part of me, particularly in times of festivity like this. The gesture was borne out of my desire to support my constituents during, and after, the Sallah celebrations.
“ I also wish to state that the distribution of the money and Sallah items was done without discrimination based on the religious, party, or ethnic affiliations of the beneficiaries”, he added.
Oseni also expressed his readiness to launch the Traders’ Cooperative Society, Scholarship, and Bursary Scheme for indigent students across the two local government areas in the federal constituency.
According to him, “These interventions are in the series of programmes targeted at improving the lives of our people. We are looking at empowering about 20,000 constituents in microeconomic development of their trades as well as giving scholarship and bursary awards to qualified students in Higher Institutions of learning”, the APC chieftain explained.
The beneficiaries of the Sallah gifts exclaimed that they were simply blown away by the largesse, stressing that it was a long time since such a huge gesture came their way.
“We are excited about Pastor Oseni’s largesse. Honestly, we weren’t expecting it considering his faith, but he had shown that he’s indeed a leader who truly cares for us irrespective of our religious beliefs. This isn’t his first time, even during the COVID-19 lockdown he assisted many of us. We must commend Oseni for his untiring efforts at getting the Muslims recognized in the constituency, he deserves our support”, they said.
