MOGAJI of the popular Ajimobi Family in Ibadan, Mogaji Wasiu Ajimobi has heaped the blame of the electoral loss of his brother on alleged rigging by the opposing Peoples Democractic Party (PDP) in tacit collusion with the military.
Mogaji Ajimobi who levelled the allegation on Saturday during a radio programme in Ibadan, the state capital insisted that the election was massively rigged in Ibarapa North Local Government among others.
According to Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s younger brother, the electoral body, INEC in alliance with the security agencies, especially the military did not make use of Card Reader Machines and allowed mercenaries of the PDP to vote .
He further revealed that Party Agents of the APC were chased away from the polling centres with matchets and other dangerous weapons with the complicity of the security men deployed to the local government.
Mogaji Ajimobi pointed out that it was these hordes of malpractices that influenced the votess for Dr Mohammed Kola Balogun of the PDP during the election.The Mogaji, however, hinted of a possibility of the party to go to the Election Petitions Tribunal to seek redress.
Speaking on the coming Governorship Election, Mogaji Ajimobi expressed confidence that the party’s standard bearer, Chief Abdulwaheed Adekola Adebayo Adelabu would emerged victorious, disclosing that most of the aggrieved members of the party are now fully back to its fold.
“Most of our members who dumped the party before the election are now back and the APC is good to go”, he assured.
The Mogaji also admonished the electorate to come out in their numbers next Saturday and vote massively for Chief Adebayo Adelabu and all APC House of Assembly Candidates in the 32 State Constituencies in the State.
