Despite several calls for his resignation by some stakeholders of his party, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Uche Secondus, has insisted that he will not surrender his position.

Earlier, a caucus of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the Federal House of Representatives had asked Secondus, to honourably resign from his position over alleged poor leadership of the party.

In related development, some party members who gathered at the PDP National secretariat Abuja, also held placards calling for the Chairman’s resignation.

However, in a statement  by his spokesperson, Ike Abonyi, the party gaffer maintained that nothing, so far, warrants his resignation as National Chairman.

The statement read, “those tiny minority calling for his resignation should come clean and tell party members across the country his offense why he should resign.

“He said he will remain focussed and committed to the ideals of the party which he swore to protect and defend upon his election to lead this great party 44 months ago”, it added.
