The Chairman, House Committee on Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) and Member representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency, Hon. Aderemi Oseni, has said President Bola Tinubu deserves a second term in 2027 for steering Nigeria through bold economic and social reforms that are beginning to yield visible results.
Oseni stated this on Saturday during the All Progressives Congress (APC) general meeting held in Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State.
In a statement by his media aide, Idowu Ayodele, the lawmaker said President Tinubu’s policies have begun to reshape Nigeria’s economic outlook and restore confidence in the country’s development trajectory.
According to him, one of the standout achievements of the administration is the establishment of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), which has opened access to higher education for thousands of students from low-income backgrounds.
“President Tinubu’s NELFUND scheme has given new hope to young Nigerians who once thought university education was beyond their reach,” Oseni said. “It’s a bold and inclusive policy that demonstrates the President’s commitment to equal opportunity and social justice.”
The lawmaker also praised the administration’s economic reforms, saying they are gradually stabilising the naira and restoring investor confidence.
“We can now see steady improvement in the exchange rate and other economic indicators. These gains are the result of deliberate and well-thought-out policies aimed at long-term recovery,” he added.
The APC chieftain highlighted the recent implementation of his Cancer Dialysis Subsidy Bill as part of the Tinubu administration’s people-centered governance approach.
“With the President’s support, dialysis for cancer patients is now free or heavily subsidised in government hospitals. This clearly shows that this administration is not only focused on infrastructure, but also on the welfare and health of Nigerians,” he said.
He further lauded the ongoing tax and fiscal reforms that have boosted allocations to states and local governments, enabling them to execute more developmental projects.
“The reforms have brought renewed financial strength to the states, and the positive impact is already evident in improved service delivery,” the federal lawmaker stated.
While acknowledging the challenges confronting Nigerians, the FERMA Committee Chairman urged citizens to remain patient and optimistic.
“In every reform period, there are temporary discomforts,” he noted. “But we can all see that Nigeria is gradually stabilising. President Tinubu has a clear direction, and continuity is crucial to consolidating the gains.”
Oseni charged APC members and stakeholders to intensify mobilisation for the ongoing voter registration exercise in Oyo State, saying the goal’s benchmark is to deliver one million votes for President Tinubu’s re-election.
“We must all get involved. The only way to ensure victory for the President and reclaim Oyo State is through unity, commitment, and mass participation in voter registration,” he said.
The meeting, attended by the APC Leader in Ido Local Government, Alhaji Kamorudeen Ajisafe, as well as party leaders, stakeholders, and members, ended with a unanimous vote of confidence in President Tinubu and an endorsement of his 2027 re-election bid.
