Oyo South Senatorial District: Alli to Contest Under PDP Ticket

A gubernatorial aspirant under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and former Secretary to the Oyo State Government, Barrister Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli has concluded strategy for 2019 elections as it has now been sealed that he would prosecute his Oyo South Senatorial ambition under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), sources told Mega Icon Magazine.

Sources also hinted that there were meetings and discussions with the PDP guber aspirant in the state, Engr Seyi Makinde, where the former Chairman of Oodua Investment, Alli was negotiating for the Senatorial District’s ticket.

This is coming after the affirmation of Senator Olufemi Lanlehin as the governorship aspirant of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) by the party’s National Working Committee in Abuja.

It would be recalled that Chief Bayo Lawal had earlier won the party’s Senatorial ticket ahead of the 2019 general elections having defeated former Deputy Governor of the state, Alhaji Azeem Gbolarumi.

Confirming the development, one of the sources who spoke to our reporter in confidence disclosed that Makinde is ready to offer Alli automatic ticket for the Oyo South Senatorial District.

“It is believed that Alli’s candidature, being an experienced politician will secure Ibadan votes for the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), but talks still ongoing”, another source added.
