Oyo South: Makinde, Oyo PDP end speculation, settle for Tegbe, dump Balogun

Ahead of the forthcoming 2023 general elections, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state has finally  ends speculation, as  his preferred candidate, Mogaji Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe officially emerged the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate for Oyo South.

The official endorsement of Tegbe, as reliably gathered, was made by the leadership of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state and the 9 local government areas in the senatorial district.

Tegbe, one of the leading governorship aspirants in the All Progressives Congress, APC in the state, recently dumped the Party for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The Oyo PDP stakeholders meeting was chaired by the Governor Makinde, who is also the leader of the party in the state.

Announcing the development on Sunday evening, Fresh FM’s Presenter, Mayor Isaac Brown, said the endorsement was reached by all critical stakeholders of the party.

“The leadership of Oyo PDP in the 9 local government of Oyo South senatorial district has in a meeting officially endorsed Tegbe for the party’s ticket,” he was quoted saying.

Meanwhile, the incumbent lawmaker representing the senatorial district , Senator Kola  Balogun, who is the younger brother of the Olubadan of Ibadanland,  Oba Lekan Balogun is yet to respond to the development, as of the time of filling this report.
