Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Prof. Adeolu Akande, on Sunday, called on members of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), in Oyo state to remain calm over the lingering crisis in the election of new party executive in the state.
Contained, in a statement he personally signed in Ibadan, Akande noted that each of the three levels of the congress held in the state remains contentious and calls for the resolute intervention of the national leadership of the party.
” I acknowledge that there are unresolved issues with the ward, local government and state levels of the congresses. I wish to commend the intervention of the national leadership of the party so far in the lingering crisis.I am left with no doubt that the commitment of the national leadership to the victory of APC in the 2023 elections will make the leadership come up with a formula to resolve the crisis in the state.
“I call on members of the party to remain calm and law abiding, knowing full well that as members of the same party,we shall soon be working together to return the party to the fold of progressive states come 2023”, the statement said.
