Oyo Reps’ Member, Oseni Tasks Special Assistants On Performance

A member of the House of Representatives representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency, Oyo state, Engr. Aderemi Oseni has charged the newly appointed Special Assistants to demonstrate their worth through exceptional performance.

The lawmaker, who initiated the appointments last year via his community-based platform, aimed at addressing the challenges faced by his constituents, emphasised the importance of the appointees aligning with his progressive and liberation vision for the constituency.

Speaking at a retreat organised for the sixty appointed Special Assistants, on Saturday, in Ibadan, the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) urged them to key into his vision for the constituency.

Commending the Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency’s Board of Registered Trustees for organising the retreat, Oseni noted that the session’s purpose was to ensure that the political appointees aligned with his vision and blueprint.

“I commend the organisers of this laudable programme; they have executed it exceptionally well. When engaging people in new endeavours, alignment is crucial, and that’s the essence of this retreat. As my special assistants, you are pivotal strategic partners in our mission to develop and transform our beloved constituency. I am confident that, with your involvement, there will be a remarkable positive change in the narrative of Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency,” he expressed.

Addressing the expectations of the people, the lawmaker said, “I am fully aware of the significant expectations, and rightfully so. The people trust and anticipate that we will elevate Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency to an admirable level. Our mission is framed as liberation, not competition. I intend to collaborate with leaders and stakeholders regardless of religion, gender, ethnicity, or political affiliation to collectively develop the federal constituency. As special assistants, your focus should be on constituency development—interact with community associations and stakeholders; this administration is all-inclusive”.

However, he urged the participants not merely to absorb the insights from the retreat, but to carry them forward as they embrace their new responsibilities.

The APC leader, in a statement by his media aide, Idowu Ayodele, restated his commitment to accelerating development in the constituency. He disclosed the acquisition of a D6 bulldozer to rehabilitate roads, open access routes to villages, and construct new roads. In a related development, drilling rigs have been ordered to implement his initiative of one borehole per polling unit, which is currently ongoing.

Oseni, also disclosed plans for a world-class specialist hospital construction this year, to be complemented by health centers where needed.

“A structure will be established for mobile clinics, conducting basic health checks, administering drugs, and making recommendations for my people in our various villages periodically to reduce preventable deaths”, he added.

Beyond his youth empowerment initiative, the lawmaker also hinted at the construction of two strategically located stadiums to bolster sporting activities.
