Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA), Engr. Aderemi Oseni has generously donated ten million naira (N10 million) to support the development of the Omi-Adio Palace project in Ido Local Government Area.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker, representing the Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency of Oyo State, made the donation during a recent visit to the town.
Omi-Adio, a city with nearly a million residents, has long lacked a suitable palace, a deficiency now being addressed through this initiative.
In a statement issued by his media aide, Idowu Ayodele, in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital, and made available to journalists, Oseni explained that the donation fulfilled a campaign promise.
“I needed to visit my constituents, especially my fathers and mothers, and support their ongoing efforts. Seeing the palace construction progress has been encouraging, and I am pleased to contribute N10 million,” he said.
He emphasized that the donation represents more than financial support; it is a commitment to the cultural and infrastructural growth of the federal constituency.
“This is a testament to our shared vision for community advancement and unity. The development of the Omi-Adio Palace is a cornerstone for our progress,” he added.
The lawmaker reiterated his dedication to the constituency’s overall development.
“Our work is far from over. My focus remains on delivering tangible benefits and creating growth opportunities. We will continue to invest in our community to realize our collective aspirations and ensure that progress benefits all.”
The Olomi of Omi-Adio, Oba M.K.O. Adebayo, lauded the lawmaker’s generosity.
Speaking through Chief Muyili Ayelamgbe, the monarch expressed gratitude, noting that the donation would significantly advance the palace project.
