Oyo Rep, Oseni gets committee’s chairman

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abass has named Hon. Aderemi Oseni, representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency, as the chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA).

This is just as the number of committees increased from the previous 109 to 134.

It would be recalled that the APC chieftain, who was recently elected into the green chambers during the 2023 general elections, recorded a landslide victory in all the twenty wards in the federal constituency by a total vote of 26,285 and a difference of 15,297 votes to defeat his closest rival.

At the plenary on Thursday, the Speaker announced the name of the Oyo state, Ibadan – born business mogul alongside other chairmen and deputy chairmen of the various standing committees.

The structural engineer, who has contributed immensely to the field of engineering in Nigeria over the past 30 years, in a statement by his media aide, Idowu Ayodele, thanked the leadership of the house for reposing confidence in his ability to deliver on the mandate bestowed on him, pledging the committee’s commitment to serving the Nigerian people diligently.

“On behalf of my distinguished colleagues, I want to appreciate the leadership of the 10th House of Representatives headed by Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abass for trusting our abilities, especially for the mandate bestowed on us and the rare privilege to serve the Nigerian people in this capacity. You are honouring the trust that has been placed in us, we promise to work tirelessly to deliver on our mandate and together work collectively in harmony towards achieving the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu”, the statement said.

Oseni, however, reassured the constituents of good governance and effective representation.
