Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) Engr. Aderemi Oseni has extended warm wishes to Chief Bisi Akande on the occasion of his 85th birthday.
Oseni, who also represents Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency of Oyo state, lauded Chief Akande’s unwavering commitment to pro-people progressivism, hailing him as a political legend.
“The former Osun State Governor and inaugural interim National Chairman of our dear party—the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been recognised for embodying virtues such as accountability, transparency, and selfless service to humanity,” he said.
In a statement released by his media aide, Idowu Ayodele, the lawmaker further noted Chief Akande’s significant contributions as an elder statesman, highlighting the former governor’s constructive, effective, and positive impact on the development of Osun State, the Southwest region, and Nigeria as a whole.
“Chief Akande is not merely a respected voice in the Nigerian project; his influence and honour reverberate beyond party lines, and emphasise the quest for a united and indivisible nation. As a prominent figure in the early days of the APC, he actively nurtured its growth alongside other leaders, transforming it into a robust and successful election-winning platform from an initial opposition party.
“Undoubtedly, Baba stands as an exemplary leader—one whom contemporary political officeholders and aspiring politicians should look up to for building a commendable reputation that has withstood the unpredictable terrain of Nigerian politics”, the statement read.
As Chief Bisi Akande marks his 85th milestone, the lawmaker expressed the importance of celebrating and cherishing the enduring qualities that make him an exemplar of purposeful leadership, stressing that his legacy and vital role would continue to shape the political landscape of the nation.
