Oyo, Osun proffer solution to LAUTECH crisis, releases N500m.

OYO State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, and his counterpart from Osun,  Rauf Aregbesola have volunteered their thoughts to finding solution to the lingering  imbroglio that currently affects the jointly owned Ladoke Akintola University  of Technology (LAUTECH) by paying N250 million each to the kitty of the citadel of learning pending the release of the visitation panel reports.

An inside source told Mega Icon Magazine that it is a palliative measure towards the reopening of the university, adding that both states have paid the amount as promised and the sum is now in the account of the school.

Refreshing your memory, LAUTECH students have been at home for eight months as a result of the industrial action by all groups of workers in the University.

Very recently, the crisis got to its climax when LAUTECH students protested to the Agodi Secretariat Office of the Governor of Oyo State in Ibadan, the state capital.

Addressing the protesting LAUTEC students, Governor Ajimobi reiterated their resolve that the two States had promised to contribute a sum of N250 million each  to get back workers to their duty posts and build on it afterwards.

The governor explained that the sum would enable the institution pay some salaries and reopen for academic activities before end of this month.
