The Oyo State Chapter of Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria (OMPAN) on Thursday congratulated Ambassador Wale Ojo Lanre on his appointment as the Director General, Council of Arts and Culture by the Ekiti state Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi
The Association also lauded the governor for considering more journalists including, Mr Samuel Oluwalana of Daily Independent and others for appointment into his cabinet.
Contained in the press statement jointly signed by the association’s Chairman, Remi Oladoye and Public Relations Officer, Dare Adeniran, its described Ojo Lanre’s appointment as putting a round peg in a round hole,
“Wale Ojo Lanre is a journalist with special interest in the promotion of culture and tourism, a task that has taken him to many countries of the world”.
While expressing optimism in Ojo Lanre’s ability to influence a positive turnaround in the culture and tourism sector in the state, OMPAN also urged Ojo Lanre to maintain the diligence, and outstanding display of love for the culture and tourism sector that have been his hallmark over the years.
In a related development, the association urged the newly appointed Director-General to take creative decisions that will move the Council forward and ensure that Ekiti retains its place of pride as far as arts and culture are concerned.
