Oyo: NOA boss commends Ige’s two years performance.

MRS Dolapo Dosumu of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Oyo state has recently commended the achievements of Hon. Akeem Ige representing Ibadan South East State Constituency II in the Oyo State House of Assembly, in the last two years.

The Director, who gave this commendation in her remarks at a town hall meeting organised by her agency in collaboration with Konrad Adeneur Stiftung for House of Assembly members, a platform to give  account of stewardship to members of their constituencies held at Ibadan Grammar School hall, Molete, Ibadan, observed that from all the previous meetings so far held, the lawmaker’s account of stewardship have lengthy records of achievements, well coordinated, so organised and fully attended by members of his constituency who had not only come to listen but had come to testify to his performances with letters of appreciation from beneficiaries from various communities present at the meeting.

She noted that despite the fact that constituency projects were not part of the functions of a lawmaker, Ige has combined the job of the executive arm to his legislative duty with the physical infrastructures he has put in place for his constituency area.

Presenting the details of his stewardship/legislative duties at the meeting, the Accord Party lawmaker, Ige disclosed that he has embarked upon many infrastructures like construction of bridges, modern toilets, boreholes, drainages, school furniture, street light projects, health centres, police station as well as financial/economic empowerment to various individuals, communities and groups in the last two years.

In addition, Ige said that he has equally sponsored bills and motions that have direct bearing on the lives of the citizens in his constituency and Oyo State in general.

He, however, used the occasion to express his immense gratitude to his political party, Accord, for giving him opportunity to contest during the last election and for the support they gave him before, during and last election as well as traditional rulers, religious leaders, market men and women, non-governmental organizations, youth group, traders, transporters, artisans, security agencies, journalists, representatives of other political parties and well wishers that attended the meeting.

He, then urged the present administration in the state to ensure the completion of all abandoned roads in his constituency which include Labo,  Eleta, Academy Owode and others so as to alleviate the sufferings of the motorists that are plying these roads.

While calling on the Commissioner of Police in the State to put  adequate security measures in place for the residents of the entire constituency from armed robbers that usually terrorised the area in recent times, Ige however appealed to the authority of Ibadan South LC D A on the need to rehabilitate Adeyemo link Osungbade Odo Oba road as a matter of urgency to alleviate the sufferings of the people in the area.
