Oyo LG Poll: Ajimobi urges members on respect for party leadership supremacy.

OYO State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi yesterday called on members of the ruling party – All Progressives Congress (APC)  in the state to respect the decisions of the party leadership in order to ensure victory in the coming local government elections.

The governor made the appeal at the Ibadan-Ibarapa zonal party meeting held at Lafia Hotel, Ibadan calling on members to be united before the election.

His statement reads : “We called for this meeting so that all members, no matter their former parties before joining APC or from any group would not be segregated, the party belongs to us all and we must unite today to prepare for the election whenever it comes up.

“This meeting is important for the cohesion of members and for internal campaign processes to commence and to make opposition parties know that we are together.”

Governor Ajimobi further assured that the party would go through normal primaries which he said the leaders of the party would moderate as not all aspiring for positions at the local level would win.

“It is for sure that we would have election to the local councils and our party will certainly conduct primary election before the general election to allow for guided success of our party.

“Whether we like it or not democracy must be guided and we will do that to ensure victory for our party, the lines of Late Bola Ige and Lam Adeshina guided processes that led to all elections during their time, it is the reason we are talking of progressive politics today, we will not shy away from doing same, any of the aspirants that have paid and cannot tow the stipulations of the leaders will get back the money he or she paid to obtain form”, the governor declared.
