HONOURABLE Ademola Akeem Ige, member representing Ibadan South East constituency II in the Oyo State House of Assembly has promised to improve his constituency’s education.
The lawmaker made the pledge during his visit to some public primary schools within his constituency to evaluate the condition of some classrooms he constructed with other educational materials during his tennure as the Council Chief of Ibadan South East Local Government Area.
Speaking at Islamic Primary School, Ori Aje, Ibadan, Honourable Ige commended the staff and members of Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) of the school for maintaining three blocks of classrooms he constructed with staff room, toilet, deep well, chairs/desks and other educational materials supplied in the year 2005.
He stressed that for a society to be fully developed, the education given to the young ones in such society must be quality and standard one, adding that this informed his decision to improve the education in his constituency.
He, thereafter promised to immediately repair all the chairs and desks that have been damaged as well as providing new ones for all the schools visited in the constituency.
Equally, Honourable Ige promised to liaise with the authority of Ibadan South East Local Government Area to repair a pedestrian bridge linking Islamic primary school to Nurul Islamiya Primary school, Odo Oba, Ibadan that had been washed away for easy passage of the members of the community, especially the pupils.
Earlier in his remarks, the chairman of Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) of the school, Alhaji Suleiman Adewale expressed his appreciation to the lawmaker, Honourable Ige for coming to their aid to repair the damaged chairs and desks as well as providing new ones for their children.
He disclosed that the association has taken several steps through letters written to the local government as well as soliciting assistance from other elected officers in the past which has yielded no result.
Alhaji Adewale who described the lawmaker as a man, who always fulfills his promises assured that they would equally reciprocate his good gesture by giving him full support in his future political ambition.
