Oyo: Kolade pays condolence visit to Akindele’s family, commiserates with families of late Farinu, Gbadado

The federal commissioner representing Oyo state at the Revenue Allocation, Mobilization, And Fiscal Commission (RAMFAC), Mr. Bimbo Kolade, on Tuesday paid a condolence visit to the family of late elder statesman and a core Awoist, Pa.  S.M Akindele , eulogizing the contributions of the late politician to the progressive party in the state and South-west in general dating back to the days of Chief Obafemi Awolowo.

While commiserating with the family, the former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters said he will personally miss the time spent with the deceased learning about the history of progressive politics in Nigeria and the activities of late politicians, especially from Oyo area.

Kolade who visited the family House of the late political leader in Oyo town in company with some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state including Hon. Seyi Adisa, a member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Pa. Adegbite, Hon. Luqman Anwo,  Hon. Fola Owolabi, and APC Party chairmen from the zone were prayed that God Almighty will continue to uphold the family.

The federal commissioner also visited families of Pa S.O Farinu, a former state chairman of  the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and Pa Gidado, a leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Oyo East Local Government Area.

In a related development, the APC aspirant for Oyo Central Senatorial District in the last election visited Pa Akin Ojebode to also commiserate with him on the loss of his contemporaries in politics.

The late leaders, Farinu and Akindele hailed from Oyo East and Atiba Local Governments,Oyo town.

In a chat with Pa Akin Ojebode  during the visit, Kolade who also lamented over the demise of Pa Adelere of Iseyin, observed that the second generation of leaders of the progressives in the state is quickly diminishing.

Remarking, Pa Ojebode charged the Commissioner, as one of the emerging leaders of the progressives in the state to uphold the core tenets which are based on truth and commitment to development.

“As one of the rising progressives’ leaders that we are looking up to , I urge you to carry the banner of the true progressive politics in the state”, the elder statesman urged.
