A group, Equity Movement from the 10 Oke-ogun local governments have resolved to support the aspiration of Engr. Aderemi Olaniyan to contest governorship position of Oyo state in 2019.
The group, in a statement signed by its publicity secretary, Billiaminu Kola noted that Olaniyan, having rose from the lowest to the peak of his career as a civil servant, has all it takes to continue from wherever incumbent Governor Abiola Ajimobi would stop.
The guber hopeful, who is an indigene of Igboho, headquarters of Oorelope local government area of Oyo State is a member of the breakaway faction of the Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, (APC).

According to the statement, the group informed that it is the turn of the zone to produce Oyo next governor.
The statement further declared, “there is no going back on this. We have started mobilizing for his aspiration. Out of the aspirants from our region, he is the only one that has the capabilities to turn things around if given the chance to rule. We are not saying that others from here are not competent. Engr. Olaniyan, in our own opinion, stands the best chance, especially with his network across the state.
“We believe that God has answered our prayer the day Governor Abiola Ajimobi said it in Okeho. The governor knew what we did for him in 2015 and he openly said he wanted our son to succeed him. We have more capable hands to do the job. But given his experience in civil service and community development, we believe Engr. Aderemi Raufu Olaniyan is the best,” the statement added.
