THE Oyo State Government has called for urgent collaboration with the Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo in the area of writing examination and provision of braille for visually impaired students .
The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Adeniyi Olowofela stated this on Wednesday while playing host to the management team of Federal College of Education (Special) Oyo in his office .
Professor Olowofela noted that the college has affected its environment positively especially in the area of employment opportunities and giving students with disabilities opportunity to be educated.
Earlier in his remarks, the Deputy Provost and leader of the team, Dr. Theo Ajobiewe lauded the state government efforts and its contributions to the educational development in terms of good past records and curriculum formulation.
The deputy provost disclosed that the College is providing inservice training, part-time program and content workshop, saying that there is no way it can be achieved without the collaborations with commissions and various Ministries that are concerned pwith education.
Ajobiewe, however vowed for a continued support and collaborations of the College with Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in terms of teachers training in sandwich and short term course.
