Oyo state governor -elect, Engr Seyi Makinde has called for true federalism for the advancement of the country.
Makinde made this call on Thursday while playing host to the Southwest Executives of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Dr Eddy Olafeso.
This is first time the Southwest executives of the party will be visiting Engr Makinde after his victory in the just concluded governorship election.
He, also had a meeting with the PDP National Assembly members where issues pertaining to the progress of the party were discussed.
While welcoming the party’s executives at his Ikolaba residence, the governor -elect, Makinde appreciated them for their contributions, particularly towards the success recorded at the polls.
He emphasized that the only way to fast track meaningful development is to ensure true federalism.
According to him, if there is true federalism the country would have recorded tremendous success since her independent.
Also remarking, the Southwest Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Olafeso assured that Makinde’s administration will improve social-economic development of the state.
He, then urged the people of the state to support the Seyi Makinde PDP led government come May 29 for the advancement of the state.
