Fresh crisis appears to be brewing in Oyo state, as former Governor and Leader of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Chief Rashidi Ladoja was noticeably absent at the inauguration of the new Governor of the state, Mr. Seyi Makinde, on Wednesday.

Though, Ladoja was reportedly sighted at his Bodija, Ibadan residence but chose to stay away for reasons yet to be ascertained.

But his media aide, Alhaji Lanre Latinwo in a telephone chat with PUNCH said, “I didn’t meet him in the house when I got there in the morning and he is yet to return when we arrived from Liberty. Until I see him, I wouldn’t know why he was not there. I believe he went somewhere.”

During the electioneering period, Chief Ladoja coordinated other opposition parties to adopt Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the consensus candidate.

However, Mega Icon magazine source hinted that the ex-governor had secretly mounted pressure on the governor to share political appointments.

The source added that Ladoja has expressed interest in the position of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), which has been one of the most difficult choices for Makinde as big wigs across the blocs have been eyeing the  slot.

“Baba Oloye in exact terms; without vagueness requested for the slot”, he added.
