THE Oyo State House of Assembly has suspended sitting billed for today in honour of its former colleague, late Hon Ganiyu Waliu Adekunle popularly known as ‘Ere’ who died yesterday after a brief illness, Mega Icon Magazine exclusively gathered.
Hon Waliu, a member of the 7th Assembly who represented Atiba State Constituency under the platform of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) has been laid to rest on Monday in his hometown, Oyo.
He was the Chairman House Committee on Works and Transport between 2011-2015.
According to sources close to the Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon Michael Adeyemo hinted that the number three citizen (3) of the state was shocked and profoundly saddened by the death of Hon. Waliu Ganiyu
Similarly, the present occupant of the seat, Hon. Gbenga Oyekola on his facebook page posted, “what an irreparable loss. RIP Hon. Waliu Ere. May almighty forgive your shortcomings”.
Mega Icon Magazine, however learnt that members of the Oyo State House of Assembly are expected to pay a condolence visit to the family of late Hon. Ganiyu Waliu Adekunle on Tuesday morning.
