Oyo Assembly Inaugurates New Member, Ogundoyin

THE winner of June 2 bye election in Ibarapa East State Constituency, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin has been sworn in by the Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon Olagunju Ojo at the floor of the house.

Hon Adebo Ogundoyin was sworn in to fill the vacant seat of Ibarapa East State constituency due to the death of former Speaker, Hon Michael Adeyemo.

While taking the oath of office and Allegiance on Thursday, Hon Ogundoyin promised to work collectively with other lawmakers for the advancement of Oyo state.

Ogundoyin, who is the son of the late Ibarapa Born Philanthropist and Industrialist, Chief Adeseun Ogundoyin was elected under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP)

Other activities at the Plenary included First reading of Survey Further Amendment Bill 2018 and Oyo state Market leaders Council Bill,2018.

Prior to the adjournment of the plenary, Hon Olusegun Ajanaku presented a motion on the need to review process of weeding of students and energize the Oyo state college of Nursing and Midwifery, Eleyele, Ibadan for Effective Performance.

Hon Ajanaku who is also the Chairman, Parliamentary council urged the executive arm of government through the Ministry of Health to take urgent measures on how the admission process can be holistically overhauled to enable the weeding process be carried out before the students pay such huge amount of money as tuition and have settle down in school as students.

Some lawmakers in their separate contributions said the motion raised by Hon Ajanaku should not be taken for granted.

They also forwarded the motion to the House Committee on Health for further consideration.

The House has adjoined sitting till Tuesday 3rd of July 2018.
