Oyo Assembly Confirms Justice Esan As President, Customary Court of Appeal

THE Oyo State House of Assembly on Tuesday confirmed the appointment of Justice Eni Esan as the President, Customary Court of Appeal in the State.

This followed a letter of nomination sent to the House by the Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi and read by the Speaker, Mr Olagunju Ojo on the floor of the House.

After reading her profile, the lawmakers in their separate remarks, described Justice Esan as a Judge with good track records in the Judicial System in the State.

Confirming the appointment, the lawmakers with voice votes unanimously agreed to the letter and thereafter confirmed the nominee.

In an interview with Mega Icon Magazine shortly after the plenary, the new President, Customary Court of Appeal promised to discharge her duties as a thorough bred legal officer.

She said quick dispensation of justice without fear or favour would be one of her priorities.

Justice Eni Esan was born in Ibadan in 1955. She attended University of Nigeria, Nsukka to study Law and was called to Bar in 1979.

Justice Esan joined the Services of Ministry of Justice, Oyo State in 1981, where she rose to become Chief Registrar of High Court in 1999 and was appointed a High Court Judge in 2001.

Justice Solomon Adegboyega Akinteye was the Pioneer President of the Court and he had since retired.
