A legal luminary and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Chief Adeniyi Akintola SAN, on Monday described the inauguration of the state executive members of the party, including the chairmen in all the 33 local government areas by the embattled chairman, Hon. Isaac Omodewu, as ‘nullity’, saying it couldn’t stand.
Akintola, who disassociated himself from what he tagged an “illegal act “, also noted that one can not place something on nothing.
According to the APC chieftain, “Isaac Omodewu, who purpotedly received his certificate of return as the party chairman in the state sometime last week at the national secretariat failed , refused and or neglected to wait for the harmonised state executive council list from the headquarter as well as the wards and local governments’ list for the state before he hurriedly sworn his stooges via the unilateral directive of his principal”.
The former Deputy Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly further described the act as self serving, self fulfilling and self aggrandisement against the general interest of the teeming supporters of APC in the state .
He added that the inauguration was illegal and a nullity, urging the national headquarter to urgently restrain the new chairman from further anticommosensical acts that can undermine the chances of the party to return to Agodi Government House come 2023.
The guber hopeful, however urged party faithful to remain calm, peaceful and resolute, assuring that that all will be well in no distance time .
