The All Progressives Congress (APC), candidate for Ido/Ibarapa East federal constituency, Engr. Remi Oseni, on Thursday, visited the Commissioner representing Oyo State at the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Prof. Adeniyi Olowofela at the commission’s office, Abuja.
Olowofela, a former Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology was the party’s candidate for the federal constituency in 2019.
The meeting, as reliably gathered is not unconnected to the recent victory of the presidential flag bearer of the party – Bola Tinubu, and also to seek support for the forthcoming Federal House of Representatives election billed for next year.
Worried about the intra Party crisis rocking the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo state, Oseni harped on the urgent need to bridge bridges ahead of the 2023 elections so that the party can reclaim the Agodi government House and restore Oyo’s pacesetting glory, good governance and peace, among others.
“I want to congratulate our leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on this deserved feat of winning the presidential candidacy of our great party – the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“It is imperative to note that Asiwaju’s landslide victory at the primary is well deserved, this is true, a testament to his capacity and acceptability by Nigerians.
“Also, I need to state emphatically that my interest is the unity of our dear party because our collective interests as Progressives is to make both the citizens and residents of Oyo State happy by making sure that by 2023, APC takes over the reins of government, that’s what residents and citizens are patiently waiting for, they are tired of crass ineptitude and lukewarm attitude of the Seyi Makinde PDP-led government.
“And I am confident that we are going to work as a team to reclaim our state’s pacesetting glory”, he said.
When contacted, the FCC Commissioner, Olowofela disclosed that their discussion was on identifying the best available way to ensure that there is unity within the Oyo APC and among the various stakeholders.
The former council boss, who assured Oseni of his support, noted that the good people of Oyo State now look up to the APC to rescue them from the shackles of maladministration inflicted on the state by the People’s Democractic Party (PDP) led government to provide the needed direction.
“We have a discussion, we talked about how the best way for us to reunite our dear APC, bring unity among all those who are aggrieved ahead of the 2023 ballot”, Olowofela added.
