THE Oyo State Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr Olawale Sadare on Thursday pledged to provide infrastructure, among other things, to reinforce Community High School, Owobale in Ibadan.
Mega Icon Magazine learnt that the 37 yr-old Bola Ige-legacy housed in Ward 03 of Egbeda Local Government Area now faces infrastructural and manpower challenges even as one of the best around.
The kind-hearted APC Chieftain who identified the need to be involved in maintaining good infrastructure and high quality of education has demonstrated a good sense of partnership with the state government to move education forward.
Sadare on his facebook page submitted, “my visit to the school recently revealed that staffers of the school could do a lot to produce future leaders if encouraged by people like you and I. With the kind permission of the energetic and passionate Commissioner of Education, Prof. Adeniyi Olowofela and members of the School Governing Board, I have volunteered to reconstruct two classrooms in the school and equip same with basic pieces of furniture ASAP. May Allah help me as the rehabilitation work starts tomorrow”.
It would be recalled that the Abiola Ajimobi – led administration had earlier made a clarion call to all the stake holders by establishing the School Governing Board, SGB which was borne out of the urgent need to restore Oyo state to its glorious years having known that government cannot, alone, bear the burden of an important sector such as education.
Interestingly, the introduction of SGB policy aimed at restoring, transforming and repositioning the education sector in the state has started yielding positive fruits as Old Student’s Associations, Philanthropists, Parent Teacher Associations, Private Companies among others continuously stretched forth their good hands for the betterment of education sector in general and their Alma Mata in particular.
