LEADERS of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo state has commended Hon. Dapo Lam Adesina, who represents Ibadan North East/South East Federal constituency for executing people-oriented projects in his constituency.
The leaders gave this commendation on Tuesday during the presentation of bursary for indigent students of tertiary institutions in memory of his late father, the former governor of the state, Alhaji Lamidi Adesina under his Omo Oloore Educational Support Scheme tagged “Lam Adesina Bursary” held at Ayisatu Asabi Hall, Felele, in Ibadan, the state capital.
Speaking at the event, Chief Ayo Eniade said the leaders were satisfied and overwhelmed with the various projects executed by the lawmaker in the area.
The APC chieftain stressed that they were happy with the performance of Dapo Lam Adesina in bringing the dividends of democracy to the constituency.
He maintained that the people would particularly remain grateful.
According to the state secretary of APC, Hon. Mojeed Olaoya, ” this is not the first time that Dapo Lam Adesina will be awarding bursary and executing other empowerment programmes. He is fulfilling his promises”.
“The son of our leader is replicating his father’s utmost philosophy, thus we are not amazed , it is expected of him. Dapo is doing well and we are very proud of him”, he added.
In a related development, another APC Chieftain in the state and a former Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Dr. Kola Balogun, also added that he was not surprised with the performance of the lawmaker, disclosing that he has been watching him keenly for long.
Balogun said, “I knew his father. He was one of the few progressives who practised what they preached. I was surprised the day he came to visit me, uninvited. I was humbled”.
The leaders jointly advised the young lawmaker to remain focused in the days and years ahead at bringing development to his people, “we appreciate the much the lawmaker has done for his constituents and for the state in general, he is truly a good representative”.
One of the beneficiaries, Latifah Ibitoye, a student of the University of Ibadan expressed appreciation to the lawmaker for his commitment to human capital development in Oyo State.
In his response, the former commissioner, Lam Adesina reassured that no electoral promise made during the campaigns by him would go unfulfilled, saying that he remained committed to fulfilling all pledges.
He noted, ” one of the promises that we had made to the people is what we have come to fulfill today.
“This is the second time we will be organising this. I promised to set up an educational scheme. I promised that many of you will benefit from the scheme. I am very sure that we are transparent enough in the selection of beneficiaries. I can assure you that those who are yet to benefit will also be considered in the future.”
Thanking the leaders for their support, he urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the gesture.
No fewer than one hundred and fifty (150) students benefited from the second phase of the programme which had in attendance, the mother of the lawmaker, Alhaja Sarat Adesina, Hon. Sakiru Fajinmi, Engr. Kayode Arowolo, Caretaker Chairman of Ibadan East LCDA, Prince Gbade Lana and his counterpart, Mr Jonathan Ogundiwin, Caretaker Chairman, Ibadan North East Local Government amongst others.
