The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Oyo State has inaugurated Ward and Local Government Area executives across the 33 councils of the state, reaffirming its resolve to strengthen grassroots structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The inauguration, which took place simultaneously at designated centres across the state on Thursday, witnessed the swearing-in of newly constituted executive committees tasked with coordinating party affairs at ward and local government levels.

‎The Oyo ADC Publicity Secretary, Barrister Bimpe Adelowo, disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday evening, describing the exercise as a strategic move to consolidate party unity and expand its operational capacity across the state.

According to him, the newly inaugurated Local Government chairmen include Hon. Idris Sola Lawal (Ibadan South West), Hon. Azeez Adegoke (Atiba), Alhaji Ashiru Soliu Ayinde (Saki West), Alhaji Biliaminu Onifade (Oyo East), Abideen Ibikunle (Ido), Hon. Odeyale Obisesan (Ona-Ara), and Elder Solomon Akindele (Iseyin).

‎Others are Musbaudeen Faruq (Iwajowa), Hon. Abosede Zealot (Akinyele), Hon. Ismail Mosobalaje (Ibadan South East), Alhaji Wasiu Oriade (Ibadan North), Hon. Ismail Hossain (Ibadan North West), and Pastor Sunday Oyelakin (Ibadan North East), among others.

‎Adelowo emphasized that the party remains united under the leadership of the State Chairman, Alhaji Yinka Olona, warning that any action outside the recognised State Executive Council would not be acknowledged.

“The Oyo State ADC under the leadership of Alhaji Yinka Olona remains one and indivisible. We reiterate that any action or purported decision that does not emanate from the duly recognised State Executive Council led by Alhaji Olona is null and void,” he said.

‎He further stressed that the party would not tolerate any attempt to create parallel structures, noting that the leadership is determined to safeguard unity and discipline within its ranks.

‎“There is no room for parallel congresses in Oyo State ADC. The Olona-led executives of the party are in total control, and we will ensure that the party’s interests are protected and advanced. We call on all members and supporters to rally behind our Chairman and the State Executive Council as we move forward,” He added.

The spokesman reiterated the party’s commitment to offering credible alternative leadership to the people of the state, expressing optimism that the inauguration of ward and local government executives would reposition the party for future electoral contests.

‎“We are committed to building a strong and vibrant party that will provide alternative leadership to the people of Oyo State. With the inauguration of the wards and LGAs executive committees, we are confident that our party will emerge stronger and more united than ever,” Adelowo stated.
