A governorship aspirant in Oyo State for 2019 elections on the platform of Africa Democratic Congress (ADC), Engr Raufu Olaniyan on Monday turned the temporary state secretariat of the party into a Mecca of sort as hundreds of his supporters, drawn from all the zones in the state escorted him to pick nomination form.
Olaniyan also expressed confidence in clinching the party’s ticket just as he stated that he is the most qualified aspirant on the party’s platform.
Addressing journalists at the temporary secretariat of the party in Ibadan, the guber hopeful maintained that having served in the Oyo state civil service for 26 years and retiring as a permanent secretary, he has paid his dues and gathered enough experience to make Oyo state an envy of all.
Also, Olaniyan noted that he understands the needs of the people and would use that understanding to run an all inclusive government with a human face if elected in 2019.
The Igboho born politician further hinted that he had gone through difficult times, and thus, appreciates the sufferings of the people. “A man who has never gone through hard times would not be able to empathize with people going through hardships”, he said.
Continuing, the ex- Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency (OYSROMA) boss assured that an ADC administration with him at the helms of affairs, will put smiles on the faces of the people of Oyo state and reclaim the state’s “Pacesetter” status.
While thanking his supporters, Olaniyan assured them of victory at the primaries, urging them to give their best to the growth, stability and success of the party.
