Oyo 2019: Obileye resigns, picks APC nomination form

THE Senior Special Assistant to Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo state on Environmental and Water Resources, Mr Tope Kazeem Obileye has resigned his appointment.

This is coming at a time when the governor had directed that appointees planning to contest in the 2019 general elections should resign their appointments to concentrate on campaigns.

Obileye who took the final decision on Monday also picked the All Progressives Congress’ nomination form on Tuesday to contest for State Assembly for Ibadan SouthWest Constituency II at the APC Secretariat, Oke-Ado, Ibadan amid massive support.

In a chat with Mega Icon Magazine, he said his decision to contest was informed by the clarion call on him by his constituents following positive contributions to the success of the present administration in the state.

The former Special Assistant to the Governor on MDGs, Obileye thanked the governor for allowing him to serve in his cabinet, while promising that his representation would attract government attention to the plight of the people, when elected.

Obileye, an alumnus of Government College Ibadan (GCI) graduated with double honours in Political Science and Public Administration, before bagging a Masters Degree in Project Development and Implementation (MPDI) at the Igbinedion University, Okada, and the Premier University, The University of Ibadan.

He believes in the liberalism political ideology of the greater good to the greater majority.
