A socio – cultural organization under the auspices of Ogbomoso Ajilete Progressive in Ogbomosoland has declared support for Engr. Olasunkanmi Tegbe, an All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in the 2019 general elections in Oyo state.

The association in a press statement issued and signed by its Chairman and Secretary, Adebayo Sina and Adewole Isaac noted that the choice of Tegbe was based on his antecedents, progressive records in the private and public sector and leadership credentials.

The group commended Governor Abiola Ajimobi for transforming the state, describing him as the architect of modern Oyo state and harbinger of peace and tranquility. It further stated that the governor has transformed the state from the ‘parlous state ‘ he met it in 2011 and  change the political landscape from the inglorious past that was characterized by arson, thuggery, ineptitude and maladministration, saying he needs a responsible and experienced successor.

The press statement reads, “having considered the giant strides of the incumbent governor and the need to extend such progressive governance beyond 2019, the association hereby support the political aspiration of Engr. Joseph Tegbe to succeed the incumbent governor in 2019 general election.

“Engr. Joseph Tegbe is very urbane and have a strong relationship with Ibadan, his native city. Oyo  town, his place of  birth and Ogbomoso where he has his secondary education and married a daughter of a former federal Minister who happens to be the only Minister ever to be produced by Ogbomoso  land.

“The association wishes to admonish the party delegates to vote for Engr. Tegbe during the forthcoming primary  in order for him to put Oyo State on higher Pedestal, following his deep knowledge  in governance, economy, information communication technology, accountancy among others.

“Tegbe is a man of immeasurable character, gentle man to the core, a philanthropist of note and a strong man of faith”, it added.

The association, however appealed to the electorates to support Tegbe’s aspiration based on his track records not on the basis of sentiments and parochialism.
