THE immediate past Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, (CBN), Chief Bayo Adelabu has laid to rest the speculation over his governorship ambition in 2019, as he would on Wednesday test his popularity with the official declaration of his interest to contest for the apex seat in Oyo state, Mega Icon Magazine exclusively gathered.

This is coming on the heels of his recent resignation from the apex bank few weeks ago. Bayo, who is the grandson of the late Ibadan political Icon, Adegoke Adelabu popularly known as Penkelemesi is one of the governorship aspirants on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

Also, our reporter reliably gathered that Adelabu’s political structure has continued to mobilize support for his ambition all over the state.

Before his recently resigned appointment, he was an Executive Director/Chief Financial Officer at First Bank. Prior to that, he held the positions of General Manager as the West African Regional Head of Finance and Strategy (Consumer Banking Business) for Standard Chartered Bank from where he was head-hunted in 2009.

Bayo holds a First Class degree in Accounting from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and he is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) a fellow of Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (FCIB) and an Associate member of the Institute of Directors of Nigeria and the UK (AIOD).

Mega Icon Magazine top sources hinted that Bayo would be declaring his intention to vie for the position of the governor at the Oke Ado APC State Secretariat Ibadan. Highly impeccable sources further added that his campaign materials including outdoor advertisements such as billboards are expected to occupy strategic locations in the state.

Also, the governorship aspirant is billed to feature on a live radio programme tomorrow to unveil his political plans.
