VIRTUALLY all members of the political class in Oyo state, including members of fourth estate of the realm and opposition parties are anxiously waiting for the outcome of the Saturday’s meeting held between the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirants and Governor Abiola Ajimobi.

There was palpable tension and anxiety within the aspirants as Ogun state adopted its governorship candidate and deputy through consensus but this is Pace setter state, the Southwest political headquarters.

The meeting attended by the 26 APC guber aspirants was first of its kind in the history of the state, most especially in the records of the progressives fold.

It was agreed, as learnt by all the aspirants in the meeting to adopt indirect primary where by the delegates will be the major determinant in this game.

The meeting was well attended by the aspirants, the state Chairman of APC, Chief Akin Oke, his Secretary, Mojeed Olaoya, Chief SM Akindele, Otunba Also Akala , except the absence of the Minister of Communications, Barrister Adebayo Shittu who is reportedly out of the country

With the absence of Shittu at the meeting, only God knows what will happen next as this may be the penalty that some gubernatorial aspirants will play into throwing just like the popular Hip pop music by Small Doctor.

It was earlier speculated that 8 out of 26 guber aspirants have obtained both the Interest and Nomination forms showing their readiness to be the standard bearer of the party in the 2019 governorship poll.

Some aspirants have continued to hold series of meeting to possibly romance their colleagues ahead of the party indirect primary, Mega Icon Magazine reliably gathered

Just as it happened in Ekiti State, Hon Opeyemi Bamidele was stepped down for Dr Kayode Fayemi but in Oyo State who will likely to step down for each other in the quest of picking Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s successor?

Mega Icon Magazine is monitoring the situation and promised to keep our numerous readers abreast.
