Oyo 2019: APC delegates elect Olawore as State Assembly candidate

AHEAD of the forthcoming general elections, the All Progressives Congress (APC) delegates for the Ibadan South East Constituency II Primary Election have elected Ganiat Omokunmi Olawore popularly known as Omo Oku Orun, ex-aide to Governor Abiola Ajimobi as the 2019 State Assembly candidate of  the party.

The former Special Assistant on Political Matters ,Community Relations and Agriculture to the governor, Olawore was announced at the indirect primary held at the Mapo Ibadan having conveniently secured 147 votes to defeat her rivals , Funke Adesiyan and others who shared 24 votes on Thursday.

Addressing journalists shortly after the election, Olawore who was elated over the outcome of the primaries , thanked the State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, Chief Akin Oke led Oyo APC, leaders and members in the council for their supports.

She also lauded her supporters for the peaceful manner they conducted themselves during the voting, promising to carry every member of the party along in the scheme of things, adding that she will continue to attract meaningful and practical development to the constituency.

While calling for more commitment from party faithful towards ensuring all round victory for the APC in the council area, Olawore also urged the constituents to reciprocate Ajimobi’s unprecedented developmental strides in the state by voting massively for the party’s candidates in next year’s general elections.

Ganiat Omokunmi Olawore, had a bachelor degree in Political Science from the University of Abuja and Masters degree in International Studies from University Ilorin, Kwara state.
