Oyetola signs Ilesa University bill into law

In fulfilment of his promise to upgrade the College of Education, Ilesa to university status, the Osun State Governor, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola has signed the University of Ilesa Bill into law.

The Osun State House of Assembly had earlier passed the Bill on 8th August 2022.

Governor Oyetola signed the bill into law, on Tuesday at the Banquet of the State House, Osogbo.

Before its assent, the bill benefited significantly from the rigorous interrogation and review of the 12-man Prof. Olu Aina-led Implementation Committee constituted by the governor.

This assent signals the formal kick-off of the new University, with the appointments of members of the Governing Council and principal officers expected to be made soon.
