Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Mr.  Gboyega Famoodun has charged the newly elected members of the state House of Assembly to “brace for hard work, saying that the challenges ahead will stretch them.

The Chairman, also urged the lawmakers to maintain the tradition of positive engagement with the executive arm of government.

Governor Gboyega Oyetola is scheduled to inaugurate the seventh House of Assembly today. No fewer than  23 members were elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and three members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Famoodun, in a statement issued  by the party’s publicist, Kunle Oyatomi, on Wednesday, further drew the attention of the lawmakers to the security challenges facing the country, noting that the state was not exempted.

“The success achieved in governance during the last eight years was significantly due to the pragmatic and harmonious working relationship between Governor Rauf Aregbesola and the previous House of Assembly.”

Continuing, he  reminded members of the assembly that they had “the constitutional duties of oversight and lawmaking both of which require creative and mature interactive communication with various aspects of society as well as the executive.

“To be successful, therefore, the lawmakers need concentration and devotion to duty”, he added.
