Arsenal‘s attempts to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have been handed a huge boost after Olivier Giroud agreed to join Borussia Dortmund as part of the deal, reports claim.
The Gunners are locked in talks with the Bundesliga side, as well as the France international’s representatives, and all parties are now keen to push through the deal.
Arsenal had upped their offer to roughly £51million, having seen a £43m bid turned down, with Dortmund holding out for closer to £53m.
But Giroud’s involvement in the deal may well get it over the line quicker, according to the Daily Mail.
The French striker was Dortmund’s top target to replace the Gabon international and he is keen to play first-team football ahead of the World Cup.
Whether he moves on loan or secures a permanent deal remains to be seen, but everything is moving in the right direction.
